Starting with just a crazy idea for a huge play, then evolving into full-blown Theatre makers, we now are entering into our 3rd phase, that of a centre for Research & Learning.
Each phase can only build on what’s gone before, and then develops it to another level.
Our Journey
Phase 1: 2001 - 2017
AlternativeTheatre/
Alternative Shakespeare
Putting our instincts to work, creating a large body of new, alternative Shakespeare and non-Shakespeare plays.
Looking back, we can see how each new work has developed our understanding and learning in different ways, keeping our work fresh and exciting.
Phase 2: 2018 - 2022
Taking our theatre out of the theatre
Whilst still creating new works, we came to the realisation that if our work was to be seen and understood by a world-wide audience, we needed to learn about joys and aches of working digitally.
This huge transition phase saw us moving from solely working in the physical medium, to also embracing the opportunities of the virtual world.
Phase 3: 2023 - ?
Taking our theatre out of the theatre
We are now firmly looking ahead as we take our physical and virtual outputs forward, to first understand, and then share, our work and the findings that have come out of it.
With the new emphasis now on Research and Learning, we look forward to working with other partner organisations, as well as developing and interacting with our new audiences.
